5083 Aluminum sheet plate belongs to the Al-Mg series alloy, the main element is magnesium, and the Mg content can reach between 4.0% and 4.9%; is a kind of rust-proof aluminum with light weight, high strength, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance and good formability, has good application effects in the field of tank truck manufacturing. The two commonly used tempers for 5083 aluminum alloy plates in tanker body applications are H111 and O/HO.
5083-H111 aluminum plate sheet for tank body and wave shields
5083-H111 aluminum sheet plate is a strain-hardened and partially annealed temper, offers high strength and excellent resistance to corrosion, making it suitable for the demanding conditions encountered in tanker bodies. 5083-H111 aluminum plate provides good formability and retains its mechanical properties even after welding, ensures the tankers maintains its strength and integrity during the transportation and storage of various liquids and gases. This makes it ideal for fabricating complex shapes and structures required in tanker bodies.
5083-O aluminum plate sheet for tank lid, bulkhead and tank head
5083-O aluminum plate sheet is softer than 5083-H111, so, the tank lid, bulkhead and the tank head of the tank cylinder is made of 5083-O aluminum plate sheet, because 5083-O aluminum plate offers excellent formability and ease of fabrication, making it suitable for applications that require intricate shapes and bending.
In addition, at the temperature within 135℃, the mechanical properties of 5083-O/H111 Performance is better than 5454-O/H111. Therefore, according to the "Cement Quality Management Regulations", when the temperature of the bulk material to be transported is not higher than 135°C, such as cement, the aluminum alloy tanker/powder tanker can choose 5083 aluminum plate as the raw material.
