6061 aluminum plate is a 6000 series aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy, and is also a type of marine aluminum plate. 6061 aluminum plate has the characteristics of good corrosion resistance, high toughness, no deformation after processing, good oxidation effect, etc., and can still maintain good operability after annealing. 6061 aluminum plate is a commonly used structural alloy. It is used in shipbuilding in the form of plates, patterned plates or profiles. Common alloy states are O, T4, T6, T651.
The corrosion resistance and welding performance of 6061 aluminum plate are not as good as 5083 aluminum plate and 5086 aluminum plate. Therefore, 6061 aluminum plate is usually not selected as the main material in large commercial ships or marine applications that require high corrosion resistance. The application of 6061 aluminum plate in shipbuilding is mainly limited to some minor or internal parts, rather than key hull structures or parts that are directly in contact with seawater.
