The insulation structure of aramid paper covered aluminum/copper wire is formed by aramid insulation paper wrapped on the surface of the conductor. Since the chemical structure of aramid paper is close to that of Nomex paper, the comprehensive performance is very similar. Aramid paper covered aluminum/copper wire is mainly used for windings of transformers, welding machines, electromagnets or other electrical equipment products.

Aramid paper is a rapidly developing special chemical fiber paper among high-performance, high-temperature resistant insulation papers, which is close to the performance of NOMEX paper. It not only has good physical and mechanical properties, but also has good thermal stability, flame retardancy, electrical insulation and radiation resistance. It is an important basic material in the fields of aerospace, national defense, electronics, communications, environmental protection, chemical industry and marine development.
The temperature rise of transformers insulated with aramid paper products can be designed to 180℃, requiring relatively few wires and iron cores, which can reduce size and weight, thereby reducing infrastructure costs and facilitating installation. Smaller iron cores also mean smaller no-load losses.
The transformer winding uses aramid paper wrapped wire, which maintains excellent electrical and mechanical properties throughout the service life of the transformer. Aramid paper is resistant to shrinkage and compression, has good elasticity and is not prone to aging. It has good thermal shock resistance, so it can ensure that the transformer coil structure is tight and will not crack. In addition, aramid paper insulation paper is not sensitive to temperature and dust, which improves the reliability of the transformer.
Aramid paper has high heat resistance and can maintain its original insulation performance even at temperatures as high as 220℃. When designing the transformer, the C-class 220℃ insulation material is used as the H-class 180℃, which can cope with emergency overloads and unexpected capacity expansions, which can greatly reduce the backup plan.
Aramid paper insulation material has stable chemical properties, is safe and flame-retardant, non-toxic, and radiation-resistant. It will not release toxic gases even in the event of a fire; it does not react with solvents and is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. When its service life ends, it is easy to recycle, resources can be reused, and waste can be degraded without causing pollution to the environment.
